    Position Purpose:  Working closely with the Project Manager, assisting on various projects, and contributing to the technical competence and production requirements of the discipline.  Provides exceptional customer service and coordination assistance with internal and external project partners (consultants, contractors, etc.).


    Specific Responsibilities Include:

    • Work with the Team lead/ Project Manager/ Engineering Manager in providing our clients with finished projects in a timely manner.
    • Communicate effectively with the Project Manager; this includes collecting and coordinating useful information.
    • Maintain a working relationship with other staff and clients.
    • Participate in meetings with client, as required.
    • Become familiar with storing and retrieving documents appropriately onto the WEC network.
    • Work closely with the PM to coordinate project data and information.
    • Prepare and compile drawings for technical reviews and submission to clients.
    • Work closely with engineers to develop drawings.
    • Review and mark up shop drawings.
    • Develop routine day-to-day design details.
    • May under supervisions conduct site inspection and write reports.
    • Prepare technical design for HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Suppression.
    • Review and prepare equipment selections and specifications.
    • Piping/plumbing.
    • Process understanding of energy analysis.
    • Design routine mechanical elements
    • Employees are required to adhere to the company and client safety policies and practices in effect at any given time.



    • Graduate from a recognized technical program or have 5 years broad field and/or design experience
    • Working towards an ASTTBC designation.
    • Member of ASHRAE and/or ASPE.


    • Good interpersonal skills; a person who listens well, respects diversity of opinions and has an open, clear and succinct communication style.
    • Good verbal and written communication skills.
    • Effective organizational and time management skills in handling multiple projects, performing a variety of tasks, and meeting required deadlines.
    • Ability to represent the company to the staff, clients and community by ensuring the best image is presented.
    • Good working knowledge of MS Office, AutoCAD, Carrier HAP, Trane Trace, Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam and Revit MEP. Experience in Revit MEP is an asset.
    • Understand provincial and national codes and standards
    • Ability to write basic reports.
    • Ability to have basic client service skills: be credible, attentive, reliable, responsive, and empathetic.
    • Ability to understand client expectations and exceed them.
    • Ability to communicate fully and clearly.
    • Fundamental understanding of budgets.
    • Ability to relate 2-dimensional drawings to 3-dimensional spaces
